By accessing or using GroupStudyTimer ("the App", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform.

A. User Responsibilities

As a user of GroupStudyTimer, you agree to the following:

You must provide accurate information when creating your profile and during onboarding.
You must not use cheats, bots, scripts, or any automated tools to interact with the App.
You must not attempt to hack, exploit, or gain unauthorized access to the App, its database, or other users' accounts.
You must not misuse group features — this includes spamming group chats, abusing admin privileges, or disrupting groups.
You must not send spam, repetitive, or unsolicited messages through any feature of the App.
You must not engage in abusive, offensive, hateful, bullying, or harassing behavior toward any user.

B. Account Rules

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban your account without prior notice for any of the following:

Cheating — using fake data, scripts, or browser tools to gain an unfair advantage.
Manipulating the timer — artificially inflating study time through any method.
Fake study sessions — adding manual sessions with false or exaggerated durations.
Exploiting bugs — taking advantage of bugs or unintended features instead of reporting them.
Creating multiple accounts to bypass bans or manipulate leaderboards.

Our automated anti-cheat system monitors for suspicious patterns including excessively long sessions, unusual manual entry activity, and other irregularities.

C. Intellectual Property

The entire website design, logo, branding, features, source code, and all associated content are the exclusive property of GroupStudyTimer and are protected under applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, modify, reverse-engineer, or resell any part of the App or its design without express written permission.
User-generated content (chat messages, group names, session notes) remains yours, but you grant us a non-exclusive license to display and store it within the App.

D. Limitation of Liability

StudyTimer is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for:

Data loss due to technical issues, server outages, browser limitations, or user error.
Downtime — the App may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or due to unforeseen issues.
Internet issues — connectivity problems on your end that affect the App's functionality.
User conflicts in groups — disputes, disagreements, or negative interactions between users within group chats or features.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StudyTimer and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.

E. Updates & Changes

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
We recommend checking this page periodically for updates.

F. Termination

We reserve the right to take the following actions without prior notice if a serious violation occurs:

Ban users — temporarily or permanently from the platform.
Remove content — including messages, group names, sessions, or any user-generated content that violates these terms.
Disable accounts — restrict access to all features including groups, leaderboards, chat, and the timer.
Blacklist from leaderboards — remove users from global and group rankings with a stated reason.

Banned or terminated users will be notified via their inbox when applicable. You may request account deletion by contacting us at groupstudytimer@gmail.com.

G. Data Sharing & Third-Party Use

By using GroupStudyTimer, you acknowledge and consent that we may share, sell, license, or otherwise provide certain data to third-party companies, partners, researchers, or organizations. This includes:

Onboarding profile data — country, education level, grade, stream, coaching type, city, exam categories, goals, and similar profile information.
Study time and session data — session durations, daily/weekly/monthly totals, study patterns, timestamps, and usage analytics.

Data may be shared in aggregated, anonymized, or individually identifiable form. For full details, refer to our Privacy Policy. Your continued use of the App constitutes consent to this data sharing.

H. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless GroupStudyTimer, its creators, affiliates, and team members from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of:

Your use or misuse of the App.
Your violation of these Terms and Conditions.
Your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
Any content you submit, post, or transmit through the App.
Any harm caused to other users through your actions on the platform.

I. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.
Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
Before initiating any formal legal action, you agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute by contacting us at groupstudytimer@gmail.com and allowing 30 days for resolution.

J. Age Requirement

You must be at least 5 years of age to use GroupStudyTimer.
Users under 18 should use the App with parental or guardian consent.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 5. If we discover such data has been collected, we will delete it promptly.

K. Premium Membership

GroupStudyTimer offers an optional paid Premium membership ("Premium") that provides enhanced features and visual effects. By purchasing Premium, you agree to the following:

K.1 Pricing & Payment

Premium is available as a Monthly (₹29/month) or Yearly (₹199/year) plan. Prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and are subject to change with prior notice.
Payments are made via UPI (Unified Payments Interface). We do not store your UPI ID, bank details, or any payment credentials.
Premium is manually activated by our team within 12 hours of receiving your payment. You will be notified once activated.
By making a payment, you confirm that you are authorized to use the payment method and that all payment information is accurate.

K.2 What Premium Includes

Exclusive visual effects on leaderboards and chat (animated avatar ring, rainbow name, sparkles, diamond badge).
AI-powered monthly study analysis reports (powered by Google Gemini, limited to 5 uses per month).
Animated avatar support.
Premium features may be added, modified, or removed at any time. We will notify users of significant changes.

K.3 Refund Policy

No refunds will be issued once Premium has been activated on your account, as digital services are delivered immediately.
If your payment was received but Premium was not activated within 24 hours, you may request a full refund by contacting us at groupstudytimer@gmail.com with your payment screenshot and registered email.
If you believe you were charged incorrectly or did not authorize a payment, contact us within 7 days for resolution.

K.4 Cancellation

Premium does not auto-renew. Your membership expires at the end of your paid period (1 month or 1 year from activation).
There is no cancellation process — simply do not renew when your plan expires.
Upon expiry, your account reverts to the free tier. No data is lost; only Premium visual features are removed.

K.5 Account Bans & Premium

If your account is banned or suspended for violating these Terms, your Premium benefits will be revoked immediately. No refund will be provided for the remaining duration.
Premium membership does not exempt you from any rules, anti-cheat measures, or moderation actions.

K.6 No Guarantee of Competitive Advantage

Premium is purely cosmetic and analytical. It does not provide any advantage in study time tracking, leaderboard ranking calculations, or streak counting.
AI analysis reports are generated automatically and may contain inaccuracies. We are not responsible for any decisions made based on AI-generated content.

L. No Warranty on Accuracy

Study time calculations, leaderboard rankings, analytics, and streak data are provided on a best-effort basis and may not be 100% accurate due to browser limitations, sync delays, or technical issues.
AI-generated responses (powered by Google Gemini) are automatically generated and may contain errors. We are not responsible for any decisions made based on AI output.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any data displayed within the App.
